Think Like A Scientist


What are the Science stuff?

The Science stuff were:

  • Magic Balloons
  • Balloon Rockets
  • Milk Art
  • Changing the Cabbage Colour

Magic Balloon was scary to me because we had to use a skewer and put it in the balloon in where top the balloon was not spared enough to pop.

Balloon Rockets were like rockets flying.  The Force push the balloon forward and it zoomed so fast.

Milk Art was a kind of art that is made from Milk, Dish washing Liquid, Food Colouring (Not Dark Food Colouring).

The Changing of the Cabbage Colour was changing the cabbages colour some of them are about to fall of the cups or they are about die.

Where To Visit (Maths)

What I did with Lisa: Me and Lisa did this activity called Where To Visit.  We used ×2 and -5 then start doing it. You can see some of the number are not green that's because it not a ×2 or a - 5 number.

How I Felt:
I felt helpful working with Lisa on the "Where To Visit" activity.

I had to do was draw a slimy newt from the chapter Matilda.

How I Felt:
I felt very will working on my slimy newt in the Matilda Learning Centre.

What I Did:
We worked together in a group by helping each other this is the 2nd part of the movie Matilda. We had to listen to the video then we wrote down what we hear.

I Felt:
I felt happy work with the people in my group.

Rocket DASH?



Reflection

Success Criteria

  • Have described the setting of my story using interesting adjectives
  • Character does an action of some sort - something happens
  • Character speaks (reacts to what has happened)
  • Have shown how the character feels through their movements, reactions and body language
  • Have written a cliffhanger or rhetorical question to finish the paragraph.

What I did: I had to write a DASH? paragraph of a raccoon called Rocket.

I felt fine working on the DASH? activity.

My next step is to use it as a story.

Vowel Sounds Writing Challenge



What I did:
I did was chose a vowels (A,E,I,O or U) and write a little story about the I was doing the vowel "O" sound.

This activity was easy because I had to do was chose the vowel I wanted, also I choses the letter "O" because it was easy to use.

My next step is to making my word sense

Speech (Why Everyone Should Have A Chromebook)

What I did.

  • Plan my speech before I wrote the speech



  • Then I had to write it in a google doc
  • It took a long time to finish to the speech. As I say I felt good because I sound like a good speech.

My next step is to try a better speech and speak in front of the class.

My refection

 What did I do:
 Counting all the dark and light blue looking for the answer.
I felt happy with the activity because it was kind of easy to me but some were hard like the last one at the end of the slideshow.

Vowels Practice



I had to do was sound the vowels and chose the right vowel, long or short (AEIOU and the long OO= the long U)

For the short and long vowel sounds I did this:
The sounds are, "aeiou" and "oo"; so in order. So it just like short and long sounds in the vowels.

Reading And Writing Whole Number




My Refection

I had to do was make a number and turn upside-down , Just like 5317707 = Lollies (on Page/slide 3).

I Can read numbers in written form 
I Can read numbers in expanded form.

Some of them I know but it easy to do this thing because I had to do was use a calculator and turn it up-sidedown figure out what the word was.

I had to do was do the Summer Decisions

This was is hard to when doing the Summer Decisions because I had to think about the book (Wonder).  Also it was a long book in Wonder it took me to think a long time (not kind of long)

Next time I will might think faster and learn better.

Success Criteria:
Can ask questions before, during and after reading.
Can identify the type of questions being asked.
Can use different sources (search text, prior knowledge, other texts) to answer questions.
Can identify features of nonfiction texts and explain their purpose.

  • Asking question are like asking why about the thing
  • Answering question are like using the correct answering (or making the right answer) 
There are 12 non-fiction text features :

  2. Photo are like a little photo (find in this slideshow page 1)
  3. Caption are like ... this bird is the fastest bird in the world
  4. bold words are like ... hello or HELLO
  5. Italics are sloped letters like ... hello or HELLO
  6. Chart/Table are like a box in group
  7. Fact box are like ... little facts 
  8. Q and A box (question and answer box) are like using a question and use the corret answering for it.

It's kind of easy to do a stop and dash ,E.G.  name word - describing word - doing word.

My Refection
I.A.L.T write a holiday from like ..  e.g easter, Christmas, birthday.

 WALT is Brainstorm ideas about a topic
Describe a topic using the five senses
Ask questions and add detail.

I did well is choose a memorable event and brainstorm by using the five senses.
This activity is kind of easy because I use the 5 senses (that will be not in other places). 

I think I will work harder to get it done.

I can now work kind of quicker
and I still wonder if I can work faster next time.
